Glaucus - Sarong
Glaucus - Sarong
These luxurious Sarongs can be worn around the waist, twisted back around the neck as an evening top over pants or just as glamorous beach wear.
The fabric is Deluxe Chiffon or Poly Silk - 100% polyester (needed to bring out the vibrant colours) and super sheer. Feels like silk but super tough for beach lifestyle.
Glaucus marginatus is a pelagic (meaning it lives in mid-water) nudibranch that lives upside down on the sea surface in the middle of the ocean. Its undersurface is a deep silvery blue so it looks like ocean to a bird flying overhead. From below the stripes of dark and light blue could be just light on an ocean ripple. They cling to the surface tension with their wide "hands" and feed on cnidarians - like Blue Bottles. Sometimes they wash to our shores after a storm. I found this one washed ashore at Cabarita Beach in Northern NSW.
